Amphoe Bang Sao Thong ( Thai : อำเภอ บางเสาธง , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː bāːŋ sǎw tʰōŋ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Samut Prakan . The province of Samut Prakan is located in the central region of Thailand on the southeastern outskirts of Bangkok .
geography
Samut Prakan belongs to the Bangkok metropolitan area , the transition between the two cities is fluid.
Neighboring areas are (clockwise from the north) Lat Krabang (a district of Bangkok ) and the Bang Bo and Bang Phli districts of Samut Prakan Province.
history
From 1992 to 1993 the "New Town Bang Phli" (Thai: Mueang Mai Bang Phli ) was built as a residential area for families with higher incomes. The area around the city, consisting of three tambon , was then separated from the Amphoe Bang Phli and on April 1, 1995 initially set up as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) .
With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007, Bang Sao Thong officially received full amphoe status.
The new city consists of around 20,000 single-family houses in which over 100,000 people can live. There is a shopping center directly east of the city center, while the city's administrative buildings are located east of the shopping center.

The Suvarnabhumi campus of the private Assumption University (Thailand) is located in Amphoe Bang Sao Thong .

Bang Sao Thong County is divided into three tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 39 Muban ("villages").

- Bang Sao Thong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บางเสาธง ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Bang Sao Thong, Sisa Chorakhe Yai.
There are also three " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)
- Bang Sao Thong (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บางเสาธง ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Bang Sao Thong.
- Sisa Chorakhe Noi (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ศีรษะ จร เข้ น้อย ) consisting of the complete tambon Sisa Chorakhe Noi.
- Sisa Chorakhe Yai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ศีรษะ จร เข้ ใหญ่ ) consisting of parts of the tambon Sisa Chorakhe Yai.
