The Rolava in Chaloupky

Chaloupky ( German  Neuhaus ) was a municipality in the Czech Republic that was demolished in the 1950s and is now a desert in the Bohemian Ore Mountains . The cadastral district Chaloupky u Přebuze with an area of 431.0243 ha belongs to Přebuz today .

Geographical location

Neuhaus was a scattered settlement in the Rolava valley . The connecting road from Frühbuß ( Přebuz ) to Neuhammer ( Nové Hamry ) ran through the village .

history

Neuhaus was created by mining after the Thirty Years War and was initially called the New House . The names new building and new building are also handed down in the church records .

Caspar Müller's family was one of the first settlers. In 1631 it is mentioned that Walburga Bastian Müller's widow from Eibenstock, who was staying at the New House with her brother-in-law Caspar Müller, gave birth to a (illegitimate) child. In 1624 Caspar Müller is still referred to as a miner at the old glassworks and in 1633 in Trinksaifen . He died in Neuhaus in 1658. Gradually other families from Trinksaifen settled there, such as Fickert, Härtl, Kragl, Siegert, Weyrich and Ullmann.

Neuhaus seems to have existed as a separate village only since the 18th century. Neuhaus does not appear in the list of souls in the Elbogen district from 1651, and later residents are still partially listed in drinking bars. In 1685, the form Neuhaus was written down for the first time . After the decline in mining, the residents earned their living mainly from forestry and homework such as embroidery and sewing. Agricultural was difficult because of the altitude. Potatoes were grown in a protected location. From the end of the 19th century there were earning opportunities in the three large Neudeker factories wool combing / worsted spinning mill, iron mill (rolling) and paper mill.

Neuhaus was first parish to Neudek . In order to attend mass, the parishioners had to walk the difficult route to Neudek, especially in winter. It was not uncommon for the Neuhausers to visit the church at Frühbuss . In 1773 a comparison was made with the pastor von Frühbuß , who from now on carried out baptisms and visits to the sick in the villages of Hirschenstand and Neuhaus. Since 1786 Neuhaus was parish after Hirschenstand . The judge's office was held by Christoph Siegert in 1791, Martin Ullmann in 1798 and Franz Fickert at the beginning of the 19th century.

In 1847 the village had 126 houses with 971 inhabitants and an inn. Until the abolition of patrimonial jurisdiction in 1848/49, Neuhaus belonged to the Neudek rule . The municipality was part of the Neudek district from 1868 . In 1897/98 Neuhaus received its own school building with a teacher's apartment. Lessons took place in two classes. The post office was also located in the building. In 1900 there were 88 houses in Neuhaus. In 1924/25 a war memorial was erected in the center of the village in front of the school. Neuhaus only received electricity in 1931.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and belonged to the Neudek district until 1945 . The German residents were expropriated and expelled after the Second World War. While there were 79 houses in the village in 1930, there were only three houses left in 1955, which were razed to the ground a little later. Today the Chaloupky desert belongs to the municipality of Přebuz.
