From 1989 to 1997 she was nominated for all five world championships . Here she won bronze four times, namely in 1991 in singles, in 1989 and 1995 with the team and in 1993 with Chai Po Wa in doubles.

In 1992 she qualified for the first time to take part in the Olympic Games . In the individual she won against Moosaka (Uganda) and lost to Emilia Ciosu (Romania), which is why she was eliminated in the group stage. In doubles with Chai Po Wa, she reached the quarterfinals, which were lost to Chen Zihe / Gao Jun from China.

In 1996 she prevailed in the individual group matches against Monica Doti (Brazil), Krisztina Tóth (Hungary) and Lily Yip (USA), then defeated Geng Lijuan (Canada) and failed in the quarter-finals against Chen Jing (China). In doubles she competed again with Chai Po Wa and came back to the quarterfinals. In the group matches they won against Eliana Gonzalez / Milagritos Gorriti (Peru) and Åsa Svensson / Pernilla Pettersson (Sweden) and were defeated by Kim Hyon-hui / Tu Jong-Sil (North Korea) and thus made it to the first round, where, however, Kim Mu Gyo / Park Gyeong-Ae (South Korea) were too strong.

The best place in the ITTF world rankings was achieved by Chan Tan Lui at the end of 1992 with 11th place.
