Chaos; Child (spelling: CHAOS; CHILD) is a visual novel by the Japanese company 5pb. from the year 2014. Based on the game was also a Manga and Anime - television series . The story continues that of the 2008 Chaos; Head game .

content

The story takes place in Shibuya in 2015 , six years after the events of Chaos; Head , in which an earthquake wreaked havoc in the district. An equally mysterious series of murders preceded the mysterious earthquake, which was only restricted to this location.

The protagonist is Takuru Miyashiro, high school student and member of the school newspaper. When another mysterious series of murders occurs, he notices the parallels to what happened six years ago. He and his colleagues are feeling this and so he and his constant companion Serika Onoe are the first to get to the next crime scene. There they also meet a girl who turns out to be their classmate Hinae. Now Takeru wants to continue researching and writing about the murders, although Nono Kurusu wants to stop him. Both of them live with foster parents as orphans who survived the 2009 earthquake. And although Hinae doesn't want to testify to the police, she is more open to Takeru. In addition, he soon finds out that the same stickers were to be found at all crime scenes. Now he wants to use the knowledge of the past murders to predict the next scene, but puts his classmates in danger.

Game mechanics

The visual novel is divided into several narrative threads. The player is first forced to relive the story of Takuru, which focuses on his relationship with Serika and Nono. After completing this main thread, the stories of other characters become accessible: those of Nono, Hana, Hinae, and Uki. In these, the player learns more about the individual characters and their relationships as well as the background to the murders - but they always revolve around Takuru's fate. The play of Takuru's story also influences that of the other characters.
