Montabon is a commune Déléguée in the French community Montval-sur-Loir with 727 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Montabonais .
On October 1, 2016, Montabon was merged with the municipalities of Château-du-Loir and Vouvray-sur-Loir to form the new municipality ( Commune nouvelle ) Montval-sur-Loir. The municipality belonged to the arrondissement of La Flèche and the canton of Château-du-Loir (until 2015: canton of La Fresnaye-sur-Chédouet ).
geography
Montabon is about 39 kilometers south-southeast of Le Mans and about 34 kilometers east of La Flèche . The A28 autoroute runs through the west of the municipality .
