content

Frank Allen is a professional public speaker who lectures on time management. He sets a good example: he maximizes his efficiency perfectly by planning his own life down to the minute. He loves his wife Susan and their little daughter Jesse very much.

On the day of an important seminar that could be his breakthrough in the company's lecture series, Susan changes her clock by 10 minutes to give him time to do a meaningless job for her on that important day, but she moves her to the wrong one Direction. From the missed ferry to the career-damaging fact that he is late for his lecture on time management, Frank experiences a used day. But he loves his wife so much that when the beautiful Paula goes to his hotel room, he undresses and jumps on him, apologizes and goes home in the middle of the night.

As he drives home through the night, he sees a pregnant woman, Nancy, who is in labor and taking the stranger with her. At the hospital, Frank is asked to fill out some documents. He mistakenly writes down his own information, and the hospital nurses assume he is the father.

Before Frank comes home, a nurse calls from the hospital and tries to contact "the father". Susan immediately believes that it is Frank's baby and that he is cheating on her and leading a double life. When Frank comes home, she refuses to let him clear up the misunderstanding and throws him out of the house within a few moments. Her reaction over the next few days is exaggerated, she refuses to speak to Frank and only allows him to see Jesse after school.

Frank has no choice but to provide scientific evidence to Susan. He visits a doctor for a paternity test, but is diagnosed that he has never been able to reproduce at first because he has Klinefelter syndrome. The indisputable truth about Jesse and thus Susan's own infidelity devastates Frank - but it also explains why Susan so instantly assumed that Frank was a cheater, treated him with implacable contempt, and refused to let him try to resolve the situation.

A few days later, Nancy brings her baby to the Allen's house in hopes of thanking Frank for his kindness, but only runs into Susan. Nancy clears up the misunderstanding. Susan then ignores her cruel behavior of the past few days and expects Frank to just come home and act like she is the one who forgave him.

But the damage is done when Frank realizes that he was the one in the relationship who was loyal.

After giving a life changing speech about life on a whim in his own time management lecture, he decides to live his life randomly from that moment on. He begins his reformed approach to life with the simple idea of possibility and randomness, making his decisions based on shuffling three index cards with written options and randomly selecting an index card. On his journey, he learns more about love, friendship, faith, hope and life than he ever imagined.
