Chapelle de Glény

The Chapelle de Glenys is a Catholic chapel in Servières-le-Château , a French commune in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine , which was built in the 12th century. The chapel has been a protected architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1952 .

history

The chapel was badly damaged during the French Revolution , so that only the choir remained . The municipality of Servières-le-Château, as the owner of the chapel, extensively renovated the building.

description

The chapel consists of a short nave that ends in a semicircular closed choir. The apse has a round arched window and is vaulted. On the west side there is an open bell gable that towers above the building. There are sculpted capitals inside .
