The Chapin Peak is a 2,170 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . In the Quartz Hills, it rises 3 km southeast of Stich Peak on the western flank of the Reedy Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped the mountain based on its own surveys and using aerial photographs by the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1967 after Howard Chapin of the United States Marine Corps , pilot of the VX-6 squadron at McMurdo Station from 1962 to 1963.
