Chariklo (naiad)

Chariklo ( Greek  Χαρικλώ ) is a Naiad of Greek mythology .

She is the daughter of Apollon , Perses or Oceanus , the wife of the centaur Cheiron and from him the mother of Karystos and the Okyroe. Together with her husband Cheiron and his mother Philyra , she was the educator of the heroes Jason and Achilles .

A pictorial representation of Chariklo as a participant in the wedding of Peleus and Thetis can be found on the François vase from the 6th century BC. Chr.
