Charles Allwright
Charles Allwright (* 1902 , † August 10, 1978 in Ramsgate ) was an English table tennis player who took part in the first two world championships and won bronze in each team competition.
Career
Charles Allwright played cricket in the early 1920s and won the London League Championship in 1922/23. In table tennis he represented England in many international competitions in the 1920s. At the Open English Championship 1924/25 he was second behind the Indian Prashant N. Nanda .
In 1926 and 1928 he took part in the world championships. He was third with the English team behind Hungary and Austria.
In the mid-1920s he was a member of the Executive Committee of the English Table Tennis Association ETTA for several years . In the late 1920s, Charles Allwright ended his career as an active table tennis player. After that he played cricket and soccer.
