English Open (table tennis)
English Open is a table tennis tournament held annually by the English table tennis association ETTA ( The English Table Tennis Association ). It is part of the ITTF Pro Tour series.
history
The English Open was held for the first time in 1921 under the name English National Championships by the then English table tennis association, the Table Tennis Association . When the association dissolved in April 1927, the successor to the English Table Tennis Association (ETTA) took over. The first championships open to foreigners were therefore held in 1927. The tournament has been part of the ITTF Pro Tour series since 1996 .
