Qiao Yunping
Qiao Yunping (born September 13, 1968 in Qingdao ) is a Chinese table tennis player who became double world champion in the 1990s and won silver at the Olympic Games.
Career
The left-hander Qiao Yunping achieved her most important successes mainly in doubles and team competitions. From 1991 to 1997 she took part in all four world championships . In 1993 she became world champion in doubles with Liu Wei , in mixed with Ma Wenge she reached the semi-finals. At the next World Cup in 1995 she won bronze in singles, silver in doubles with Liu Wei and gold with the Chinese team. She won another bronze medal in the 1997 World Cup in women's doubles with Wang Hui .
In 1994 Qiao Yunping was Asian champion in doubles with Liu Wei and with the team, in singles and in mixed she came under the last four. In 1996 she qualified for participation in the Olympic Games , where she and her "regular partner" Liu Wei won the silver medal in doubles.
In the ITTF world rankings , Qiao Yunping finished ninth in 1997.
Time in Germany
In 1994, Qiao Yunping was signed by the Bundesliga club Rot-Weiß Klettham-Erding , with whom she won the ETTU Cup in 1997 and 1998 . She stayed here until 1998, when she played for the Shanghai team in China for a year . In 1999 she joined FC Langweid and helped its women's team to the German championship.
Private
Qiao Yunping has five siblings. One sister, Qiao Yunli , lives in Germany and is the wife of the former Bavarian master Ralf Schreiner.
