Career

Park Mi-young achieved the most successes in double competitions with her compatriot Kim Kyung-ah . With her she reached the semi-finals at the 2007 , 2008 and 2011 World Championships . They finished second at the Pro Tour Grand Finals in 2007 and 2008, and even won in 2010. In 2009 they failed at the Asian Cup only in the final. She also helped the South Korean team to achieve good placements, around fifth place at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups and bronze at the 2012 World Cup .

In 2008 she took part in the Olympic Games for the first time. In the individual, she won against Kim Jong (North Korea) and then lost to Wang Nan (China). With the South Korean team she won bronze, she was not qualified for the doubles competition. Four years later she was again represented at the Olympic Games in singles. Again she survived the first round against the Hungarian Georgina Póta , only to be eliminated against Li Xiaoxia (China).

Activities in Germany

In 2008, Park Mi-young was signed by the Bundesliga club FSV Kroppach as a substitute, but was never used there.
