Charles Altura

Charles Franklin Altura (* 1981 in California ) is an American fusion and jazz guitarist .

Altura studied anthropology at Stanford University and has worked since the late 2000s a. a. with Stanley Clarke , Ambrose Akinmusire ( The Imagined Savior Is Far Easier to Paint , 2014), Terence Blanchard ( Breathless , 2015), Chick Corea ( The Vigil , 2013), Tobias Meinhart ( Silent Dreamer , 2017), Tigran Hamasyan , Linda Oh and Dayna Stephens as well as with their own formations. In the field of jazz, he was involved in nine recording sessions between 2008 and 2016. Currently (2019) he plays in the Harish Raghavan Quintet.
