Charles Bünte

Charles Bünte (born July 19, 1880 in Hanover , † August 5, 1943 in Berlin ) was a German pianist , university professor and composer .

Life

Charles Bünte studied from 1898 to 1902 at the Berlin University of Music . From 1905 he was a piano teacher there, and in 1933 he was appointed professor for piano. He was the companion of Joseph Joachim . He made his first appearance as a soloist in 1901 with the Hanover Philharmonic Orchestra, and his last appearance with a Beethoven piano concerto in 1938 in Königsberg / East Prussia . 36 compositions for piano / solo and vocal parts have been preserved, one CD was produced in 2011. He had one last appearance as a pianist on April 1, 1943 in the concert hall of the Berlin Singakademie Unter den Linden. The only surviving score from the possession of Charles Bünte with notes: Soloist in Beethoven's 3rd Piano Concerto, 20/21. October 1923 Münster, 30. November 1923 Berlin (Staatskapelle Berlin), another 13 cities 1927–1938.

Charles Bünte was married to Hertha, b. Lackner. The conductor Carl August Bünte and the chamber musician and author Hans Bünte are their sons.
