Charles W. Billings (born November 26, 1866 in Eatontown , † December 13, 1928 in Deal ) was an American sports marksman .
successes
Charles Billings, who was a member of the New York Athletic Club , took part in the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris in a trap . In the team competition he took first place with the US team ahead of Great Britain and Germany. The Americans, whose team consisted of Frank Hall , James Graham , Edward Gleason , Ralph Spotts and John Hendrickson in addition to Billings, secured the gold medal with a total of 532 points and thus 21 points ahead . Billings was the team's second best shooter with 93 points. In the individual competition he finished 42nd with 14 points after failing to qualify for the second round on 20 goals in the first round.
From 1920 until his death in 1928, Billings was Oceanport's first mayor .
