Charles Edmund Boyle

Charles Edmund Boyle (born February 4, 1836 in Uniontown , Fayette County , Pennsylvania , †  December 15, 1888 in Seattle , Washington Territory ) was an American politician . Between 1883 and 1887 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Charles Boyle attended his home public schools and Waynesburg College . After studying law and being admitted to the bar in 1861, he began to work in this profession. In 1862 he was elected District Attorney for Fayette County. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1865 and 1866 he was a member of the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania ; in 1867 and 1871 he was chairman of the respective regional Democratic party conventions in Pennsylvania.

In the 1882 congressional election , Boyle was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 21st  constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Morgan Ringland Wise on March 4, 1883 . After being re-elected, he was able to complete two terms in Congress until March 3, 1887 . In 1886 he renounced another candidacy. In September 1888, Boyle was appointed a judge in the Washington Territory. He held this office until his death on December 15 of the same year. He was buried in his native Uniontown.
