Charles Foster (hurdler)

Charles Foster ( Charles Wayne Foster; born July 2, 1953 in Greensboro , North Carolina , † March 31, 2019 ) was an American hurdler who specialized in the 110-meter distance .

In 1975 he won the Universiade .

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he came fourth with his personal best of 13.41 s.

In 1977 he finished third at the Athletics World Cup in Düsseldorf and won silver at the Pacific Conference Games .

At the Pan American Games in San Juan in 1979 , he won bronze.

Over 110 meter hurdles he was US champion in 1974 and 1977 and French champion in 1974, over 60 yard hurdles in 1975 and 1978 US indoor champion and over 60 meter hurdles in 1974 Italian indoor champion. Starting for North Carolina Central University , he became NCAA champion in 1974 .
