Charles Hutchison

Charles A. Hutchison (born December 3, 1879 in Allegheny , Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , † May 30, 1949 in Hollywood , California ) was an American actor and film director .

Life

After studying at the Western University of Pennsylvania , spending a year in Chicago and moving to New York, Hutchison came across stage experience by chance at the beginning of the century. After this was disappointing, Hutchison starred in numerous films between 1914 and 1944. His most successful time was as a male serial star for the film company Pathé from 1918 to 1922, in which he played numerous action scenes; He became famous for motorcycle jumps (though not performed by himself). He then often directed himself, mostly according to his own script, and independently of large studios. The last serial was created in 1926 with Lightning Hutch , which was located in the Western milieu. The title character of "Larry" Hutch "Hutchdale" was created in 1921 for Hurricane Hutch . Hutchison also produced a western film about this character in England.

Hutchison was married to actress Edith Thornton .
