Charles Geoffrey Nicholas Kay-Shuttleworth, 5th Baron Shuttleworth KG KCVO (born August 2, 1948 ) is a British peer and politician .

Life

He is the eldest son of Charles Kay-Shuttleworth, 4th Baron Shuttleworth and Anne Elizabeth Phillips.

He attended Eton College . On October 5, 1975, when his father died, he inherited his title of 5th Baron Shuttleworth , as well as the associated seat in the House of Lords . He worked in real estate finance and became a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1983 . In 1997 he became Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire . By the House of Lords Act 1999 he resigned from parliament in November 1999.

In 1996 he was named Knight of Justice of the Order of Saint John . In 2011 he was appointed Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order beaten and 2016 as a Knight Companion in the Order of the Garter was added.

Marriage and offspring

On October 25, 1975, he married Ann Mary Whatman. He has three sons with her:

  • Hon. William James Kay-Shuttleworth (* 1979)
