Charles Paumier du Verger was a Belgian sport shooter .
successes
Charles Paumier du Verger took part in two Olympic Games . In 1900 in Paris he won the bronze medal behind Lars Jørgen Madsen and Ole Østmo while standing still with the army rifle . In the three-position fight, he finished sixth both individually and with the team, while he did not achieve a front placement in the kneeling and standing position. At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 , he secured the silver medal with the Free Pistol in the team competition with Réginald Storms , Paul van Asbroeck and René Englebert . With 1863 points, the Belgians held their ground against the British team, while the US team won the competition. Paumier du Verger was the team's third-best shooter with 462 points. He finished the three-position fight with the free rifle with the team in fifth place.
At world championships between 1900 and 1912, Paumier du Verger won a total of 30 medals, 18 with the rifle and 12 with the pistol . He won seven of his twelve world championship titles with the free pistol, one of them in the individual and six with the team. He was also world champion with the free rifle in 1905 in Brussels and 1908 in Vienna in the three-position fight, in 1906 in Milan and in 1908 in the kneeling position and in 1905 in the prone position. In addition to his twelve gold medals, he won six silver and twelve bronze medals.
