from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Charles de Ventadour († December 20, 1486 ) was Count of Ventadour and probably Connétable of France . He was a member of the Comborn family .

Life

Charles de Ventadour was the younger son of Robert, Comte de Ventadour (1380/93 attested, † before 1407); his mother is unknown. When his older brother Jacques, Count of Ventadour, died on August 17, 1424 at the Battle of Verneuil , he became its heir, as Jacques had no sons but only two daughters. However, it is documented for the first time in 1426.

In one source he is referred to as the Connétable of France, but without giving the year.
