Charley's Girls documents the history of the punk band of the same name , which performed in the legendary Ratinger Hof at the heart of the Düsseldorf punk scene from 1977 to 1979 . Franz Bielmeier founded together with Markus Oehlen and Peter Hein , who later became known as the singer of the " Fehlfarben ", the "first German punk band", which was later followed by other pioneering bands such as " Mittagspause " and finally "Fehlfarben". Astrid Heibach succeeds in looking back amusing with a collage-like style of design that is committed to the colorful punk aesthetic. Bielmeier's little grandson tells and comments in a disarming way the goings-on of the "punk grandpas".
