Sybil Bauer
Sybil Bauer (born September 18, 1903 in Chicago ; † January 31, 1927 there ) was an American swimmer .
In the twenties she was the dominant back swimmer and held all world records in this discipline. At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 she was four seconds ahead of the Olympic champion over 100 m back. In her six-year career, she swam 23 world records. She died of cancer in 1927.
In 1967 she was inducted into the international swimming pool 's hall of fame .
