Charlotte (St. Vincent and the Grenadines)
Charlotte is a Parish administrative unit in the island state of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean . It is the largest parish in terms of area and extends on the east coast of the island of St. Vincent . With an area of 149 km², the Parish is roughly the size of the British Virgin Islands . In 2000 the population was estimated at 38,000. The parish has the longest coastline of all parishes and is as large in area as the three smallest parishes combined. The parish has a very rough and rugged topography and only a few small plains on the coast. Much of the Parish can therefore not be reached via regular roads. Until a bridge was built over the Rabacca Dry River , access to the areas north of the river was completely impossible in the rain.
The capital of Parish is Georgetown and also the second largest settlement in the country.
The Parish also includes the Cow and Calves rocks , off the north coast of Saint Vincent.
