Simin Han is a place on the Jala above Tuzla , in the northeast of Bosnia and Herzegovina .

In 2013 the place had 2621 inhabitants.

In 1991, out of a total of 2,309 inhabitants, 1,164 identified themselves as Serbs (50.4%), 517 as Muslims ( Bosniaks ) (22.4%), 360 as Yugoslavs (15.6%), 108 as Croatians (4.7%) and 160 as members of other groups.

In 1895 Simin Han had 110 residents.

history

The construction of the first plant for the production of salt began in Simin Han in 1884 and was completed a year later. From 1885 until today, Solana has been producing and trading salt; regardless of the change in the various state systems.

Meyers Großes Konversations-Lexikon , Volume 18. Leipzig 1909 describes on page 478 Simin Han as a mining site in the Dolnja-Tuzla district. In addition, the place had a terminus of the state railway line   Doboj -Dolnja-Tuzla-Simin Han. There was also a road crossing point to Zvornik and Brecska . It also contained a large salt works , the brine of which was raised by means of steam pumps. These were led to Simin Han in a four-kilometer-long pipeline.

Sports

The Bosnian first division club FK Tuzla City is based in Simin Han.

Simin Han is located at the junction of the M18 to Bijeljina and M4 to Zvornik highways coming from Tuzla .
