Charlotte Bachmann
Charlotte Wilhelmine Caroline Bachmann , b. Stöwe (born November 2, 1757 in Berlin ; † August 19, 1817 there ) was a German singer , pianist and composer .
Life
Charlotte Bachmann was born as the daughter of the musician Wilhelm Heinrich Stöwe, from whom she was initially trained. She caused a stir at an early age both as a singer and as a pianist; at the age of 9 she appeared in public. On September 20, 1785 she married the violist Karl Ludwig Bachmann (1743-1809). After his death, she withdrew from the public. Charlotte Bachmann was one of the first 20 members of the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin, founded in 1791 .
