building

The church building is a hall building made of quarry stones with a south vestibule and a west transverse tower as well as a choir with a 5/8 end over a crypt . The core of the tower and the north wall of the nave are Romanesque; the choir dates from the mid-14th century. The nave was extended to the south to the width of the choir and tower around 1500. There are tracery windows in the south wall of the nave and in the choir . The choir has buttresses and a slated roof turret . The five-storey tower has round-arched sound openings and a broken pointed helmet. The building was restored in 1719, 1896 and 1964.

Interior and equipment

In the ship there is a wooden hollow ceiling and an organ gallery to the west. A two-storey gallery dating from 1605 is located on the north wall. A pointed triumphal arch leads to the raised choir. The choir, which is now flat-roofed, was formerly vaulted, recognizable by the remains of round-robin services in the corners. On the north wall of the choir there is a gallery and an ogival sacraments niche. This dates from the end of the 15th century. The colored glass windows of the choir are dated to the end of the 19th century. The north side of the choir also leads to a crypt with a cross vault over a central octagonal pillar. The winged altar of the church is in the original version. This dates from around 1470 to 1480. In the shrine of the altar is the root of Jesse with a crowning half-figure of the Madonna in a halo . On the wings, which are divided into two zones, there are reliefs of the Annunciation, the Visitation as well as the Coronation of Mary and the Adoration of the Child. In the predella there are half-length figures of St. Mary Magdalene and a holy bishop on the side of a crucifix. The outside of the wing is painted with scenes from Joachim's life. You can see the rejection of the victim by the high priest, the meeting at the golden gate, the proclamation to Joachim and the birth of Mary. The sandstone baptism consists of an eight-sided shaft with a dome on top . On the shaft there are acanthus-framed inscription cartouches. The baptism is dated to the year 1714. The pulpit, also made of sandstone, dates from the middle of the 16th century. Its fielded basket is located on a round pillar, in the central round arch panel is the relief of the crucified with a pair of donors. There is a carved sound cover from 1768 above the pulpit. In the parish room of the church there is a wooden crucifix from the late 15th century.
