Charlotte Kaminsky

Charlotte Gertrud Maria Kaminsky (born April 1, 1904 in Königsberg ; † August 31, 1989 in Munich ) was a German voice trainer , editor and director .

Life

Charlotte Kaminski was the sister of the banker Walter Kaminsky and later became the wife of the playwright, set designer and poet Friedrich Kalbfuß .

She studied singing in Berlin , performed as an oratorio singer and worked as a speech training teacher at the UFA in Berlin. After the end of the war she took part in setting up the Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt am Main , where she became the first female program director in the history of the Federal Republic. She then switched to Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich, where she worked as a voice trainer for radio and television announcers, as well as editor and director. She also devoted herself to working with young talent.

She was the head of the Walter Kaminsky Foundation founded by her brother, which among other things supports young singers and awards prizes for young talent. As a juror in singing competitions she discovered and promoted many young talents, such as B. Marjana Lipovšek as one of the most prominent among her students.
