Charlotte von Tiefensee (* 1827 in Theresienstadt , † after 1884) was an Austrian soprano .

Life

Charlotte von Tiefensee was a daughter of the Austrian general Johann Fischer von Tiefensee (1772–1831). She moved to Prague with her mother after the father died. She received piano lessons from Joseph Proksch (1794–1864) and singing lessons from Giovanni Battista Gordigiani (1795–1871). With a scholarship from Archduke Stephan , she went to the Conservatory in Milan in 1847 , but had to flee to Trieste during the five-day uprising in 1848 . Here she was taught by the brothers Luigi (1805–1859) and Federico Ricci (1809–1877) from Naples and the singer Henriette Sontag . She received her last training from Marco Bordogni in Paris .

Charlotte von Tiefensee gave concerts in Italy , Paris (1851, 1855, 1856), London (with Jenny Lind ), Baden-Baden (1855), Munich , Vienna and Copenhagen .

In the spring of 1878 she sang in front of Prince Peter von Oldenburg . In 1884 she performed in Karlsbad.
