Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo
Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo are a DJ duo from the Netherlands. They are best known for their successful happy hardcore songs, but have also produced gabber recordings.
history
When Mental Theo alias Theo Nabuurs met Charly Lownoise alias Ramon Roelofs in Utrecht in 1991 , the two decided to work together. The duo was responsible for the very successful hardcore techno compilation Thunderdome . They went on tour together for the first time under the name Speedcity. As "Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo" they released several successful records on Roelofs' label.
In 2001 the duo broke up and both went their separate ways again. At the end of January 2005 a best-of album by Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo was released with the title Thank You Ravers .
On October 2nd, 2007, they performed together for the first time in Schwerin. The following year he had a number one hit in the UK as a guest of Basshunter with his single Now You're Gone .
On June 13th 2009 he played together with Charly Lownoise at Defqon.1 on the Gray Floor (Oldstyle + Early Rave) and on August 1st 2009 they played together at Nature One on the Classic Terminal. In 2010 he played Happy Hardcore and Hardcore together with Charly Lownoise in the Red Arena (Main Stage).
On October 2nd, 2013 Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo performed together at the Ziegelei Retro Revival Party in Groß Weeden .
On June 19, 2015, both performed together at Defqon.1 on the Black Stage (Hardcore).
On April 30, 2016, they were part of the 25th anniversary of Mayday in Dortmund.
