Basshunter (born December 22, 1984 in Halmstad ; real name Jonas Erik Altberg ) is a Swedish singer , music producer and DJ .

biography

Jonas Altberg himself describes his music as Eurodance , but it is also classified as Hands up . He says he has been making his music with the help of his computer and the Fruity Loops program since 2001. Basshunter published his first two albums on his website. The first album was called The Bassmachine and was released in 2004, the second album was called The Old Shit and was released in 2006. He became particularly known in Denmark , Finland , Iceland , Norway and Sweden, as well as in the Netherlands after his release of the single Boten Anna in 2006.

Basshunter's third album is titled LOL <(^^,)> and, as the title of the album suggests, is about the Internet and refers to the internet jargon associated with it . The piece Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar DotA (for the sake of simplicity DotA ) is about the singer being in a Ventrilo conversation and playing the Warcraft 3 funmap DotA . In the song, he also goes into game tactics and scenes. The melody of the song is based on the song Daddy DJ by the French band Daddy DJ . As with Boten Anna , Basshunter has created its own English-language counterpart for Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar DotA : All I Ever Wanted , which is about his wish to see a certain girl smile.

In mid-March 2007 a Basshunter remix of the song Ieva's Polka (Ievan Polkka) by the Finnish singing quartet Loituma was released.
