Mental Theo
Mental Theo (born February 14, 1965 in 's-Hertogenbosch ; actually Theo Nabuurs ) is a Dutch DJ and producer. He was a member of the happy hardcore duo Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo .
Career
Nabuurs had already established himself as a disc jockey (DJ) and appeared at various major events (including: Dance to Eden and Eurorave ) when he met Charly Lownoise alias Ramon Roelofs in Utrecht in 1991 . The two decided to work together. The duo was responsible for the highly successful hardcore techno - compilations Thunderdome .
They went on tour together for the first time under the name Speedcity. As "Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo" they released several successful records on Roelofs' label .
In 2001 the duo broke up and they both went their separate ways again. At the end of January 2005 a best-of album by Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo was released with the title Thank You Ravers .
On October 2nd, 2007 he appeared again for the first time together with Charly Lownoise in Schwerin . The following year he had a number one hit in the UK as a guest of Basshunter on his single Now You're Gone .
On June 13th 2009 he played together with Charly Lownoise at Defqon.1 on the Gray Floor (Oldstyle + Early Rave) and on August 1st 2009 they played together at Nature One on the Classic Terminal. At Defqon.1 2010 he played Happy Hardcore - Hardcore with Charly Lownoise in the Red Arena (Main Stage).
Nabuurs is currently hosting the program The Creepshow on the Dutch radio station Slam! .
