Chassanbi Urusbijewitsch Taow ( Russian Хасанби Урусбиевич Таов ; born November 5, 1977 in Nalchik or Shalushka , Kabardino-Balkarian ASSR , RSFSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian judoka who won the bronze medal up to 90 kg at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens won.

Athletic career

Chassanbi Taow won the bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics .

In 2001 Taow finished fifth at the European Championships in Paris . This was followed by 2nd place at the 2003 European Championships in Düsseldorf and 3rd at the 2004 European Championships in Bucharest .

At the World Championships in Cairo in 2005 , Taow took 7th place.

In 2000, 2001 and 2007 Taow became Russian champions.

Taow has been the coach of the Russian national judo team since 2009. He trained the 2016 Olympic champion in super light weight Beslan Mudranow and was appointed head coach of the Russian national judo team in October 2016.
