Chat masala

Chat Masala ( Hindi चाट मसाला cāṭ masālā ) is a dry mixture of spices ( masala ) used in Indian cuisine . The taste is spicy and slightly sour.

composition

Chat Masala is typically made up of the following spices: Amchoor (mango powder), Asafoetida , cumin , pomegranate seeds , ginger , Kala Namak (black salt), coriander , paprika , black pepper and salt.

Use in the kitchen

It is mainly used in salads (often in conjunction with lemon juice and yogurt ), chat , fruit, chutneys , raitas , lassis , Indian lemonade and desserts. It is also used for dal and (less often) for curries .

  1. Note: in India, lettuce means vegetables that are cut raw for consumption, such as cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, root vegetables, etc. a.
