The Scotts Turf Builder 300 is one of two car races that the NASCAR Nationwide Series , a touring car series, holds annually at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol , Tennessee . The other race is the Food City 250 . The Sharpie Mini 300 was first held in 1982, when Phil Parsons won the race. In the early years it was still a 150-lap race, in 1985 it was extended to 200 laps and in 1990 it was finally extended to 250 laps. Until 2005 this was the distance to be covered. In 2006 the race was extended again so that there are now 300 laps to be driven. This makes it clear that the number in the name of the race stands for the number of laps in this case.
It is one of the Nationwide Series races this year on ABC rather than ESPN2 . It was shown by FOX until 2006 .
