The Chelnok Lake ( English ; Russian Озеро Челнок Osero Tschelnok ) is a lake fed by melt water on the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . It lies between the Sørsdal glacier and the southern part of the Vestfold Mountains . The Chelnok Falls form its drain.
Aerial photographs were taken during the US operation Deep Freeze (1946–1947), in 1956 during a Soviet Antarctic expedition and in 1957 and 1958 during the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated the Russian name into English in 1973.
