Chen Rong (athlete)
Chen Rong ( Chinese 陈 荣 , Pinyin Chén Róng ; born May 18, 1988 in Hebei ) is a Chinese long-distance runner who specializes in marathons .
In 2006 she finished third in the Beijing Marathon , which she won the following year with her personal best of 2:27:05 h. In 2008 she finished fourth in the Xiamen Marathon in 2:27:09 and won the Good Luck Beijing Marathon in April , a test run on the original marathon route for the 2008 Olympic Games . Chen was nominated for the Olympic marathon himself, but gave up her place for Zhang Shujing at short notice .
In the Beijing Marathon of the same year she finished second in 2:28:25, and in the Xiamen Marathon at the beginning of next year she won 2:29:52.
