Chet Jastremski
Chester Andrew "Chet" Jastremski (born January 12, 1941 in Toledo , Ohio , USA - † May 3, 2014 ) was an American swimmer.
When Chet Jastremski started at Indiana University , he was a butterfly specialist, but soon became the world's best breaststroke swimmer under Coach Counsilman . He swam 9 world records , 17 US records and was the first person to swim the 100 yard chest under a minute.
Jastremski figured on the front page of the American sports magazine Sports Illustrated of 29 January 1962nd
At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 , he won the bronze medal in the 200 m chest. In 1968 in Mexico City , he received gold for his work in the preliminary run with the US 4 × 100 m tier relay .
In his capacity as a doctor, Dr. Chet Jastremski Member of the US medical team at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal .
He was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1977.
