The Chhukung Ri (or Chukung Ri or Chukhung Ri ) is a peak in the Mahalangur Himal in eastern Nepal .
The Chhukung Ri is a so-called trekking summit . It is located in the Khumbu region and has an altitude of 5546 m . The summit is located south of the Nuptse , with which it is connected by a mountain ridge. The 5886 m high Chhukung Tse is also located on the ridge . At the foot of Chhukung Ri, in the Imja Khola river valley , is the Chhukung settlement , which is the starting point for ascents. The ascent usually takes 3-4 hours. The peak falls into the "A" category of climbing peaks according to the Mountaineers Association of Nepal . On the western flank, the Nuptse glacier flows south into the valley.
