Chien bleu (German blue dog ) is a French short film by Fanny Liatard and Jérémy Trouilh from 2018.

action

One day when young Soraya goes home, she is followed by a young man. She confronts him and the man - Yoann - confesses to having followed her because of her blue veil, which is actually a saree . His father is afraid of everything, but a preference for the color blue and so he asked himself if she might also like the color. Soraya says that blue is the color of the gods and leaves.

Yoann's father Émile lives in an apartment that is painted completely blue. The color is his protection within his own four walls, which Émile has not left for a long time due to his social anxiety disorder . When Yoann comes home, Émile is dyeing the white dog blue because it will get stronger. The next day, Yoann takes the blue dog for a walk and causes a stir. On the way he meets Soraya again, who realizes that Yoann was telling the truth.

In conversation he learns that Soraya likes to dance and is part of a small Bharatanatyam dance group. She asks him to film the group dancing and gives him a picture for his father that shows the deity Krishna drawn in blue . The picture might help his father heal. At home, Yoann reports to his father about Soraya. Soon after, he paints his face with blue paint that will protect him. Émile slowly goes outside, where the dance group is waiting for him. They begin to dance around him and Émile soon begins to move in time and smile carefully.
