Janet Lee "Jan" Shearer-Jones (* 17th July 1958 in Dunedin as Janet Shearer ) is a former New Zealand sailor .
successes
Janet Shearer took part in three Olympics in the 470 dinghy . 1988 she won in Seoul with Fiona Galloway with 83 total points ninth. Four years later in Barcelona she competed with Leslie Egnot , with whom she finished the sailing competition in second place behind Theresa Zabell and Patricia Guerra and thus won the silver medal. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , Shearer and Egnot did not get past 16th place. At world championships she also won the silver medal with Egnot in Tsu in 1989 .
Shearer, in 2002, a MBA degree at Massey University from. She is married to the Olympic sailor Murray Jones . Her daughter Gemma Jones also took part in the 2016 Olympic sailing competitions.
