China Chow (born April 15, 1974 in London ) is a British actress and model .

biography

She is the daughter of the successful restaurateur Michael Chow and the model Tina Chow, who died in 1992 . Her father has Chinese and Scottish roots while her mother has German and Japanese parents. She has a brother who is two years younger. Her aunt Tsai Chin is also an actress and starred in two James Bond films.

Life

Before becoming an actress, she graduated from Scripps College, California with a degree in psychology. Then, like her mother, she began working as a model for Shiseido , Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, among others . She was named an It Girl by Harper's Bazaar fashion magazine in 1996 and was named in Vogue's “Next Best Dressed List” in the same year . She made her acting debut in 1998 on the side of Mark Wahlberg in the feature film The Big Hit . She is a member of the jury for the show "Work of Art: The Next Great Artist", which has been broadcast by the US cable broadcaster Bravo Television since June 9, 2010. Sarah Jessica Parker is the producer of the show .
