The Chiriguano Bay ( Spanish Bahía Chiriguano ) is a bay at the southern end of the Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located northeast of Strath Point .
Participants in an Argentine Antarctic expedition that lasted from 1948 to 1949 carried out measurements and named the bay. It is named after the tug Chiriguano , one of the ships on this research trip. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee transferred the Spanish name to English on December 15, 1982.
