The Strath Point is a low and icy headland , the southern end of Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula forms.
Participants of the Belgica expedition (1897-1899) of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery made a rough map of the headland. Aerial photographs taken by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. made between 1956 and 1957, were used for mapping in 1959. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on September 23, 1960. The name is based on the name Strath, borrowed from the Scottish Gaelic language, for a large, wide valley or for a flat stretch of land by the sea.
