Gustav Börstinghaus

Gustav Börstinghaus (born November 20, 1854 in Iserlohn , † March 1, 1929 in Düren ) was a German architect .

After completing school, Gustav Börstinghaus studied architecture at the Hanover Polytechnic from 1873 to 1876 , where he learned the design language of the Hanover Architecture School from Conrad Wilhelm Hase . In Hanover, he also gained his first practical experience with historical buildings.

As early as 1880, Börstinghaus can be verified as a master builder at the Düren company Zanders . In 1892 he moved into the house he had built at Bismarckstrasse 22 in Düren. There he ran an architecture office.

Börstinghaus was a city ​​councilor in Düren from 1908 to 1914. He was married. His wife was active in the Patriotic Women's Association. He himself was an honorary member of the administrative committee of the Düren workshops for the blind. Gustav Börstinghaus had already retired in 1925.
