Choral Synagogue (Białystok)

The Choral Synagogue in Białystok , a Polish city ​​in the Podlaskie Voivodeship , was built in 1834 and destroyed by the German occupiers in 1943 . The synagogue was on Żydowska Street (now Białówny Street).

The main patron of the synagogue, which was built on the initiative of Marek Zamenhof, the father of Ludwik Lejzer Zamenhof , was the Zabłudowski family.

Before 1941, the proportion of the Jewish population in Białystok was very high. The majority of the Jewish population was murdered by the German occupiers during the Holocaust .
