Chris Butler (* 1974 in Liverpool ) is a British film director , animator and screenwriter who was nominated for an Oscar in 2013 .

life and career

Butler first worked for a movie in 2000. He was hired as a character designer for the film Tiggers Big Adventure . In 2005 he was jointly responsible for the storyboard for Tarzan 2 and Corpse Bride . For the Oscar nominated film Coraline , Butler worked as a storyboard supervisor.

In 2012, the animated feature film ParaNorman was released , where he made his directorial and screenwriting debut . Butler and Sam Fell received a nomination for this animated film at the 85th Academy Awards in the Best Animated Feature Film category . The film was nominated in the same category at the BAFTA Awards .

In 2019, Mister Link - A Furry Crazy Adventure, the second animated film he directed, was released. Previously, Butler was involved in the script for Kubo: The Brave Samurai (2016).
