Chris Müller-von Wrycz Rekowski (* May 6, 1968 as Chris Müller in Gera ) is a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ) and since 2014 the 1st Deputy Mayor of the Hanseatic and University City of Rostock .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Gera, Müller-von Wrycz Rekowski moved with his parents to Rostock in 1988 and did his military service. From 1991 he studied law at the University of Rostock. After the first state examination he completed his PhD Wilfried Erbguth to Dr. jur. with a thesis in environmental law . He completed his legal clerkship in Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2002 with the second state examination. He is thus qualified to hold the office of judge .

Müller-von Wrycz Rekowski joined the state service and worked in the tax administration and finance ministry of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . From 2007 to 2014 he was in charge of the general department in the state-owned company for construction and real estate (BBL MV).

Müller-von Wrycz Rekowski is married and has two children from his first marriage.

politics

Müller-von Wrycz Rekowski was elected Senator for Finance, Administration and Order on March 5, 2014 by the Rostock citizenship and took up his position on August 1, 2014. He also holds the function of 1st Deputy Mayor of the Hanseatic and University City of Rostock. His regular term of office is seven years.

As successes of his activities the rapid deleveraging of the city and the successful bid to host the applicable Federal Garden Show 2025. When referendum on the future of tradition Ship Type Peace pleaded Mueller of Wrycz Rekowski for the whereabouts of the ship in Schmarl, as ultimately the majority of voting participants .

In the course of the severe club crisis at FC Hansa Rostock in October 2015, Müller-von Wrycz Rekowski took over the chairmanship of the board on a temporary and honorary basis, formed a new board and initiated the first consolidation measures. Also on an interim basis he was managing director at the Volkstheater Rostock in March 2016 .

He was nominated by the SPD as a candidate for the mayoral election in 2019.
