Vladimir Nikolajewitsch Bawarin ( Russian Владимир Николаевич Баварин , born March 9, 1939 in Kuklino , Kalinin Oblast ; † February 22, 2003 near Manscherok , Altai Republic ) was mayor of the city of Barnaul from 1991 to 2003 .

history

Bawarin was born in the small village of Kuklino in Kalinin Oblast . During the Second World War , his family was evacuated to the town of Barnaul in the Altai region due to the advancing German troops . There he studied engineering at the Altai State Technical University and then worked in the Barnaul engine factory.

In 1983 Bawarin joined the CPSU , and from 1986 he was chairman of the Barnaul local committee. After the collapse of the Soviet Union , Bawarin joined the United Russia party in 1991 and became mayor of the city of Barnaul.

On February 22, 2003 Bawarin came under mysterious circumstances in a car accident near Manscherok ( Altai Republic ) killed.
